The Macedonian Judges Association strives towards enhancing the professional and social stature of judges and of the judiciary as a whole, and encourages democratic reforms and full observance of the rule of law.

Main goals and objectives, set forth in the MJA’s Bylaws, are:

  • supporting proper implementation and observance of the constitutionality and legality in the Republic of Macedonia;
     

  • strengthening the independence of judges, and the independence of the judiciary as a whole;
     

  • improving the reputation and stature of judges in the society, and responding to judges' social and financial needs;
     

  • encouraging substantial judicial reforms, and adequate participation of judges in the process of drafting legislation related to the judiciary;
     

  • making initiatives for amending and supplementing laws and other regulations and providing opinions on draft laws;
     

  • continuing judicial education;
     

  • adoption and implementation of the Judicial Code of Ethics;
     

  • supporting cooperation and interaction between MJA members;
     

  • developing and fostering cooperation with similar associations in the Republic of Macedonia and from abroad.
